“Art is one of the best gifts in the world, so working in a capacity to develop, exhibit, write about it, and help others connect in the same way truly feeds my spirit.”

What was the Lightbulb Moment that inspired you to fully dive into what you do?

Sitting in my old bachelorette pad in Brooklyn with some friends. One of them is painter and after a few drinks she felt inspired to paint, so I gave her some paper. Then she said she wanted to paint me and asked me to pose. We didn't have paper big enough so I said she could paint on my bathroom door which was broken and going to be replaced. So the door became the canvas. It was crazy and yet perfect! Art is one of the best gifts in the world, so working in a capacity to develop, exhibit, write about it, and help others connect in the same way truly feeds my spirit. Between the joy of watching an artist finish something and the excitement of a collector falling in love with it, I'm so happy to witness the process.

What’s the most unexpected thing you’ve learned in your current career?

First impressions are important, but quality work and consistency is even more crucial.

What often sparks your creativity or gets you into the creative zone?

Afrobeat, sativa, and a clean desk.

What is your unfiltered advice for anyone looking to break into your industry?

Do your research, don't limit yourself to one type of service. Instead envision the sum of your skills and experiences in all parts of life, think about the long game, and find a mentor.
